Stir Casting

Creating New Materials: The Innovation Crucible for Metal Composites. Our Stir Casting facility is a place where we not only test but also design and create materials from scratch. This is the core of our Metal Matrix Composites (MMC) development facility, a process through which we create hybrid materials with customized, superior properties.

The process begins by melting a base metal, such as aluminum, into a liquid state within a furnace. Then, with controlled precision, we “stir” reinforcing particles—like ultra-strong ceramics such as alumina or silicon carbide—into the molten metal using a mechanical stirrer until they are evenly distributed. This composite metal mixture is then poured into a mold to produce a solid material.

Through this facility, we investigate how to produce materials that are lighter, stronger, and more wear-resistant than conventional metals. This research paves the way for innovations in high-performance automotive and aerospace components.
